Patra's Other Place

I started out with Patra's Place, primarily dedicated to my linen collection and stitching projects. But I kept getting side-tracked, so I decided to create Patra's Other Place for anything not related to embroidery topics. So you now have a choice. If you are interested in me, read this. If you only want to see my linen and stitching, visit Patra's (original) Place! (Please note that by clicking on any of the photos, they will be enlarged to fill your computer screen.)

I was married to Ken for 43 years, but he died in October 2022. So I am now alone with two cats, eight hens, and a few finches and parrots in one aviary.

Welcome to Patra's other Place!

I have been thinking about creating a separate blog for the pictures of objects other than my linen collection and my stitching. Once I made up my mind to go ahead, I had to come up with a name for the blog. For a while I was going to call it "Topsy's Town House", after our present cat Topsy (Patra was our first cat), but as I type this, Topsy is in disgrace because she stayed out late tonight and had us running all over the place looking for her! So I decided not to name ANYTHING after her, the naughty little person.

So here I am at 1.15 am with a nice new blog and as yet, no photos to put on it. But they will come! I am wondering if it is worth while removing all the non-stitching photos from Patra's Place and bring them across to here, but some of those pictures have been mentioned on other blogs from time to time, and if anyone went looking for them, it would be a tad confusing if they had disappeared. So I will simply put new pictures on here and leave the others where they are.

So what can you expect to see here? At this early stage, I plan to scan the rest of my grandmother's autograph book, and a lot more of my swap cards, as they seem to be popular. Perhaps some more photos of Aussie wildlife, as I know Pam K is particularly keen to see more of our birds. Finally, I might start a Waffle Board about books I have read, my work, my memories, my other hobbies...who knows? It is sure to grow like topsy!
