Patra's Other Place

I started out with Patra's Place, primarily dedicated to my linen collection and stitching projects. But I kept getting side-tracked, so I decided to create Patra's Other Place for anything not related to embroidery topics. So you now have a choice. If you are interested in me, read this. If you only want to see my linen and stitching, visit Patra's (original) Place! (Please note that by clicking on any of the photos, they will be enlarged to fill your computer screen.)

I was married to Ken for 43 years, but he died in October 2022. So I am now alone with two cats, eight hens, and a few finches and parrots in one aviary.

The lid of the tin I found. It looks SO old and vintage, but as Ken said, the "2 Litre" gives its age away.

Hey thanks for commenting on the books you loved as a child. If you love the Anne books did you ever read the Emily books by the same author, I know they are not as well known but have you heard of them?

Hi Daisy,
No, I don't remember any books about Emily. What were some of the titles? It might ring a bell.
I must look them in our library.

Hi Gina, 'Emily of New Moon' is the only title I can remember in full, hope that helps. Note you have a penpal in Wigton, that is about 17 miles from where I live, thought I had got back to you on that, but I don't seem to, must have been dreaming.

Hi girls, lovely to read your comments as always - tar muchly! Daisy, I don't know those books you mention, but our friend Sharon over at the Blank Page might, so I will check them out.
Ms Robyn, you would be referring to Laverton, near Werribee. RATS - right across town, about an hour's drive from me, even on the Western Ring Road! Never mind - email me closer to the time, and I will give you my phone number, and we can at least have a chin wag!
Nicole, you got email!
