Patra's Other Place

I started out with Patra's Place, primarily dedicated to my linen collection and stitching projects. But I kept getting side-tracked, so I decided to create Patra's Other Place for anything not related to embroidery topics. So you now have a choice. If you are interested in me, read this. If you only want to see my linen and stitching, visit Patra's (original) Place! (Please note that by clicking on any of the photos, they will be enlarged to fill your computer screen.)

I was married to Ken for 43 years, but he died in October 2022. So I am now alone with two cats, eight hens, and a few finches and parrots in one aviary.

For Isabelle and Helen - you'll love this!

And so will anyone else who has more than a passing interest in the English language; or to be more specific, the mutilation thereof. Pete has created a blog on which he provides details of all kinds of bloopers he finds in the media, and has then added comments in his own unique brand of humour! The blog is very appropriately named "The Butcher Shop" - have a laugh!

Gina,

Thanks for the plug. Hopefully word will get around and I'll get some visitors.

But I am looking for "detectives" who might come across examples of English abuse. So, if you know of any cases, or of someone else who does, let me know and I'll write up a case file, identifying the detective.

If the Butcher Shop gets busy enough, I'd like to make up some kinf of "plaque" acknowledging their contributions; a sort "Detective of the Month" kind of thing.
