Patra's Other Place

I started out with Patra's Place, primarily dedicated to my linen collection and stitching projects. But I kept getting side-tracked, so I decided to create Patra's Other Place for anything not related to embroidery topics. So you now have a choice. If you are interested in me, read this. If you only want to see my linen and stitching, visit Patra's (original) Place! (Please note that by clicking on any of the photos, they will be enlarged to fill your computer screen.)

I was married to Ken for 43 years, but he died in October 2022. So I am now alone with two cats, eight hens, and a few finches and parrots in one aviary.

And so it goes on...

Yesterday was even worse than the day before. Ken must have caught the gastro. virus from his Mum when we visited her, because he chundered all day yesterday. Topsy decided to get in on the act, and while Ken was throwing up in the bathroom, Topsy threw up on the carpet in the dining room. I wasn't able to remove her before Ken came into the room...poor bugger bolted back to the bathroom immediately. I've been disinfecting everything, so I hope that works well enough to keep me from getting sick too!

Oh Gina,
I'm so sorry to hear Ken and poor Topsy not feeling well. Can Ken have green tea or even better white tea? I know that helps settle my stomach right away. Especially with nasty virus'. Not sure what it does but it works almost every time.
Just my two cents worth.
Keeping you in my thoughts.
Hugs,

Gina, why do cats always choose the carpet to throw up on? never the tiles inches away. I think it's because their claws can grip the carpet. I am becoming quite on expert on stains, old linens and cat stains too. Hope Ken is feeling better and your run of bad luck ends soon and that smell is NOT termites.....

Hi Gina

You know the old saying that it never rains but it pours. It seems to go in cycles with our health. Ken's flu bug is horrible and hope you don't catch it also.

Lets hope the doubled beta blockers help Ken enough that he can have the surgery. He will be like a new man after. I know so many people that have had it and are like new people, men and women both.
Keep us posted and you take care of yourself while all this is going on.

Hugs
