Patra's Other Place

I started out with Patra's Place, primarily dedicated to my linen collection and stitching projects. But I kept getting side-tracked, so I decided to create Patra's Other Place for anything not related to embroidery topics. So you now have a choice. If you are interested in me, read this. If you only want to see my linen and stitching, visit Patra's (original) Place! (Please note that by clicking on any of the photos, they will be enlarged to fill your computer screen.)

Australian of The Year Jan. 2007

I love it when a truly deserving person is nominated for Australian Of The Year. This year's Aussie greatly deserves this award, not only for what he has done for Australia, but potentially for the world. I am half way through his latest book and I think I've learnt more about the planet's environment in this one book than I have ever learnt before.
He won't see my humble blog, but my sincere congratulations to Tim Flannery.

Yes Gina both Rob and I agree Tim Flannery is the only one they could pick at this time in our counties life as we truly need to be reminded every day what a delicate balance it is.

Glad to read your comment, Lee-Ann. Did you see Andrew Bolt's write-up in yesterday's Herald-Sun? I usually like his writing, but I was not impressed this time; he really got stuck into Tim Flannery and all the scientists who are predicting global warming etc. Ah well, time will tell - he and others won't be laughing if they live long enough to see our Planet Earth grind to a halt if we don't do something about our lifestyles.
