Patra's Other Place

I started out with Patra's Place, primarily dedicated to my linen collection and stitching projects. But I kept getting side-tracked, so I decided to create Patra's Other Place for anything not related to embroidery topics. So you now have a choice. If you are interested in me, read this. If you only want to see my linen and stitching, visit Patra's (original) Place! (Please note that by clicking on any of the photos, they will be enlarged to fill your computer screen.)

Walking to soothe a troubled soul.

Knowing I'd been depressed about my job situation for some time, a good friend called me to ask if I'd like to accompany her on a walk along the banks of the Yarra River - something she does often on her own or with friends and family. I accepted her invitation, and here are the photos I took along the way. This was my lovely Friday.

this Moorhen scuttled off to the water as soon as I appeared with my camera.

Above pic shows the junction of the Yarra River and Mullum Mullum Creek - mentioned on the information sign below. It was a sacred site to the Wurundjeri aboriginal tribe.
Above: historic homestead. Below: information sign about it.

Me - feeling totally relaxed after all that walking!

Hi Gina,
I hoped your walk made you feel better. The photos are wonderful. Today, I will have to download and post the some pictures.
It's currently 19 with an icy driveway. We're supposed to get 3 more inches. I really don't mind the snow as I mind the biting cold. Oh well, just want to pop in to say hi and I keep you in my thoughts.
Hugs,
-Patty

Thank you everyone for your comments - it is so nice to see visitors to our blogs, isn't it! Just a few quick responses: Jeanette, we started off from under the bridge crossing the Yarra at Fitzsimmons Lane. I haven't got around to snapping the local Xmas lights either, but we have a couple of weeks to go, don't we!
Sunshine might LOOK pleasant Isabelle, but the actual heat from the sun while one is walking can be a tad uncomfortable! As you might remember, young Kathie! Still, I think I'd prefer the sun to Patty's snow and ice...brrrrr.
