Patra's Other Place

I started out with Patra's Place, primarily dedicated to my linen collection and stitching projects. But I kept getting side-tracked, so I decided to create Patra's Other Place for anything not related to embroidery topics. So you now have a choice. If you are interested in me, read this. If you only want to see my linen and stitching, visit Patra's (original) Place! (Please note that by clicking on any of the photos, they will be enlarged to fill your computer screen.)

Calligraphy Society envelope.

As a member of the Calligraphy Society, I receive their magazine regularly and save the envelopes that they come in. Committee members of the Society address all the envelopes by hand each time, and I have some wonderful examples of their work. This envelope was obviously done for the Christmas mailing, but for some reason 'missed the boat' and ended up being used to send the February issue. It is so pretty I decided to scan it to show my Blog friends. The scan doesn't do it justice; the lines radiating away from the writing are done in silver, and the letters of my name are more sparkly than what it looks here.

Oh, it is so pretty. I'd have to save each envelope too. Will you show us some of your own calligraphy soon?
